Comic Con 2016

Comic Con is the biggest and most famous convention for fans of comic books, superhero movies, video games, anime, manga, and in general, all things geek!

We were back at ExCel London yesterday, only this time, it looked very, very different from when we attended The Business Show a few weeks ago! 😆 This convention has its roots in comic books. Comic Con started in 1970 as the Golden State Comic-Con, a three-day event that drew about 300 people. As comic book movies have become of increasing importance to Hollywood, there has been more and more movie and television involvement in Comic Con, in turn attracting more mainstream media attention and a wider base of potential attendees. Comic Con conventions take place all around the world.

Fans dress as their favourite superheroes which range in quality from amazingly well done to urr well, not so good! 👻

There seemed to be two areas: the booths and the panels. The booths are a bunch of comic book stores and artists selling their work. There were also showcase interviews with people behind some of the biggest TV shows and movies. There were so many stalls selling everything from rare comics to fancy-dress outfits to all sorts of memorabilia. Comic Con probably has the most comprehensive selection of comics in any one location.

We think Comic Con is a great day out for everyone and kids would definitely love to go. Hopefully, when they see Batman walking around, they'll understand it's not the real Batman 😂
